About the local

What is UNE Local 210?

Local 210 is your local union. Local Officers, along with Stewards, help to deal with local issues, such as member representation, local union-management consultation committee meetings, and running general members meetings. As an employee working in the passport program within the Greater Toronto Area, you are part of Local 210 and have a right to participate in your local.

What is PSAC? What is UNE?

The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) is your Union. They are in charge of bargaining with the employer, as well as running education programs for the members. The Union of National Employees (UNE), one of the 15 component unions within the PSAC, is the home of all passport employees. UNE is in charge of member representation, and helping members understand and use their collective agreement.

How to get involved?

Getting involved with your union is an excellent way to help improve your work conditions, network, gain new skills, and help make the world a better place. You can get involved at the Local level within 210 by holding an officer position or joining a committee; at the component level within UNE by attending an event or joining a committee; or at the PSAC level by attending any of their events or joining committees. Speak with one of the 210 local officers if you are interested to learn more.
